Where My Journey as a Film Director Began | Rajan Chauhan Filmmaker As a Student

My filmmaking journey started
at the Parul Institute of Design, Parul University, where I pursued my degree in Film & Television Production. Those years were more than just academics—they were about discovering storytelling, learning the craft of filmmaking, and understanding the responsibility of a director.
From directing small classroom exercises and practical assignments to creating short films with passionate teams, every project became a learning experience. Working closely with classmates, collaborating across departments, guiding juniors, and solving challenges together taught me that filmmaking is built on teamwork, creativity, and trust.
Film school gave me the freedom to experiment, make mistakes, learn from them, and grow with every production. It was here that I truly realized directing wasn't just a profession I wanted to pursue—it was the path I wanted to dedicate my life to. Every tiny project, every late-night discussion, every shoot, and every edit became a stepping stone in shaping the filmmaker I am today.
